That game must suck balls! Take a chill pill, dude. Real life, they're not the same thing. This game has a learning curve.
It seems like a lot of people are ADD gamers because if they can't pick up a game and be good at it right away, then there's something terribly wrong with the game. I got the demo last Friday morning. I did the tutorials and messed around on the loading course. Took me about 20-30mins.
To start cleanly getting tricks off and learn how the rider reflex works, after an hour I was racing alright. It took about 6 or 7 races until I finally won a race. THQ wanted to change up this line of games and try something new.
It's not hard or rocket science by any means. It's just something new and new scares people and makes them uncomfortable so they think it sucks. I've been playing the game all weekend and i've had a blast. This game shakes up racing games and gives people something new to try. To whoever said Pure was better and cheaper: Cheaper, perhaps. I've ridden some ATVs in my time and the suspension of the ATVs in this game feel closer to an actual ATV more than i've experienced in other games. Not to mention the final game will have much more depth to it than Pure.

Also I find it funny he says he's driven MX and says the physics are wrong and the game sucks, when this is as close to the real thing we've yet to receive. You don't jump with an mx and expect to land badly and not suffer for it, this game requires you to be SMART and to use your balance and timing to not get thrown left and right or forward from the bike. In short, the guy you quoted was full of the poopah.

I have an 08 crf250r. I don't like this game at all. I did all the tutorial stuff first. It took me a few races before I was able to win. The right stick control is good in some occasions but its not like that in real life. You don't lean in to turn. You sit as far up on the bike as you can get, lay the bike over and weight the outside foot while putting your inside foot parallel to the front wheel axle to keep your balance.
I think the right stick works well when your supposed to be standing like on straights you go in the direction you want by weighting one side or the other and you can do that on here. I just don't like trying to turn with this. It's hard to do good gate starts as well with it. Most of the time I'm like last out of the gate and somehow I end up flying past everybody to get the hole shot.
Another thing I didn't like was that the clutch is R1, I think it would be better if it was L1. The game is also very slippery. Its hard to setup where you want to go most of the time because it just slides (any terrain).
Very unrealistic. The ruts form way too fast as well. Just rented the full game, IT SUCKS BALLS!!! The overall presentation is just sub par. The visuals are decent but I did notice some pretty obvious glitching right away.
Why does EVERY game have to be some learning curve! At least give people the option of a classic control setting. There's nothing worse than having 6 different settings and seeing UN-USED buttons! I understand some people want a challenge but what about the people that just want to have fun. It's beyond annoying that they can't or choose not to serve both crowds. Let's be honest, I think the 'pick up and play' crowd is a lot more vast than all you geeky gamers who have far to much time on your hands.
After hearing what people said about the controls, I wasnt sure if I wanted to get it. But after playing the demo earlier, the controls are easy to learn. I dont even play games all the time, Im usually outside playing football or basketball.
So if it was easy for me too learn Im sure others can too. The Controls actually are pretty fun too use, and it took me about 30 mins to figure it all out on the loading screen.
I mean.whats so hard about moving the right analog stick up,down, left or right when racing.
